WebQuests

WebQuests have been used for years now to send students to authentic websites to find out information, interact with the culture, and use skills that they already have.  Remember that a good WebQuest will have pre-surfing activities, activities to complete while surfing, and activities to complete when done.  These should not just be activities to go and do something to occupy time.  You can produce your own WebQuests using simple MS Word docs saved as web pages or as PDF files.  There are also sites out there that offer templates for developing your own.  Some sites are free, some offer free trial memberships for 30 days.

Zunal - is a free site with a lot of flexibility for designing your own WebQuests. 

QuestGarden - has a free 30 day trial period and then you have to pay.  There is a companion website to QuestGarden, it is called WebQuest.org.

CreateWebquest.com - another site that is easy to learn.
