La gozadera - Gente de Zona con Marc Anthony

Antes de ver (Before watching):
  • With this fcultural experience, we are going to watch a music video by Gente de Zona. We can easily identify through music as a cultural product of the place these artists are from. The song is called: “La gozadera”. The meaning of this word comes from the idea of gathering for a good time or a party. In this case, a street party filmed in Cuba and la República Dominicana. We can also identify the street party as a cultural practice. Look at the map here while you listen to the song and soak in the colors and backgrounds. You will see people painted in the colors of all the Latin American flags (and the United States as well). Read over the activities Al ver (While watching) and Después de ver (After watching) before watching the first time. You can watch the video a few times to answer the questions.
Al ver
  • Write down the countries you heard mentioned:

Después de ver
  • List two new cultural observations you saw in this video.

  • List two things that seem similar to your cultural practices.

Soy - Lali

Check out this music video by una cantante argentina, Lali Esposito. Her song called “Soy” is a popular song that uses the ser to exclaim “Soy lo que ves” (I am what you see). As you watch the video, just keep track of how many times the word “Soy” is used.

Here's a link to the words - La letra - Soy
