NMSU Education Abroad Fair

Each year, the NMSU Office of Experiential Learning coordinates a education abroad fair to inform students about opportunities to study at partner schools throughout the world.  We always recommend trying to have the experience of studying abroad - especially to learn a language - but also because it's a great experience for real-life learning.

One of our most popular programs for learning Spanish is going on one of our group trips with a member of the NMSU Spanish Department to Costa Rica. Check out this page with some pics and videos of others that have traveled to Costa Rica for Spanish language and cultural immersion.

Fall 2025 - jueves, 20 de noviembre - de 10am - 2pm

Do this activity and earn points in your 3Cs Portfolio!

Education Abroad Fair

This is just a note to remind you what to do on Thursday, Nov. 20, 2025 we will be holding an Education Abroad Fair between 10am and 2pm in Corbett Center.

If you have a Spanish class, here are your instructions for participating and receiving points for a 3Cs activity.

So:
  • If your class meets in a regular classroom on Thurs., go to the classroom, and your instructor will meet you there, take attendance, and then accompany everyone to the First Floor in Corbett Center. Participation in the fair is your attendance and participation for that day.

  • If your class is online (and you are in or near Las Cruces), or meets on a day other than Thursday (so if you meet M and W), this activity is optional, BUT, can be worth up to 10 points for a 3Cs Portfolio Activity. Attend the fair in Corbett Center at any time you are available during the hours of 10am-2pm.

Once at the fair, go to the Department of Languages and Linguistics table – it will be clearly marked. Pick up an Education Abroad Fair Passport at the table, and it will help you discover a few things about your opportunities to study abroad. When you are done with the Education Abroad Fair Passport activity, just submit it through your Canvas course in one of the 3Cs Portfolio sections.

RECEIVE 10 POINTS!!!
